About Us!

Mission Statement
To serve people in need who are struggling financially in a way that preserves their dignity. To provide an environment that respects an individual's privacy and acknowledges how difficult it is to ask for assistance. To empower people to be self-sufficient as quickly as possible without placing additional stress on them.

Philosophy

Budget Meals, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to help families in need struggling to provide quality food for their families through our educational program. We accomplish this by: teaching families how to shop for quality food in an economical manner, providing them with menus and recipes for preparing those foods, and offering them techniques in cooking. Showing the families how to work together to achieve this goal, we hope to bring families closer together at the dinner table. Eliminating the fast foods, pre-packaged foods, and unhealthful snacks we are striving to help curb childhood obesity through our program.

Goals and Objectives
1. To alleviate hunger by educating struggling families with our "Knowledge that Feed" program for a lifetime of skills.
2. To help families save up to 60% off of their total grocery bill.
3. To teach how to feed a family of 4 for approximately $300+ a month with menus and recipe planning.

Overview of Budget Meals, Inc.
Budget Meals' educational program, entitled "Knowledge that Feeds", is comprised of a webcast and our published text manual, Beyond Couponing, which complement and reinforce one another. These two resources teach families the skills necessary to spend their grocery money more effectively, in regards to both quality and quantity. This program covers menu-planning, nutrition, stockpiling, proper food storage, and how to save up to 60% on groceries. In addition, it explains how to create menus around sales and coupons, though it stresses that coupons are not necessary to greatly reduce one's grocery expenditure. "Knowledge that Feeds" emphasizes the financial and health benefits of cooking at home, compared to buying frozen dinners or eating at fast food restaurants. It even demonstrates how to identify fresh produce and how to carve large pieces of meat so that families will feel more comfortable and confident when changing their shopping and cooking habits. Additionally, our "Knowledge that Feeds" program helps families be better prepared to make healthier food choices by teaching them how to read and understand nutrition labels. Participants in our program are encouraged to utilize Budget Meals' free support system available through social media, newsletters, our website and blog.
