One-in-six Americans receives some level of food assistance from the Federal Government.
Think about that for a moment... in
2008       15,608,060 people sought food assistance
2012,     46,449,850 people sought food assistance
2016,    138,235,530 projected…we have to stop this NOW!

Nearly 21.8% of Americans rely on federal assistance. As alarming as these statistics are, the welfare program's participation is actually growing at a record rate, nearly 25,000 enrollees per day nationwide - with no real end in sight!   We need to put a stop to this now.  Only through education will we be able to accomplish this…after all, just giving handouts is not helping.

The Budget Meals, Inc. system teaches anyone over the age of 12 how to budget, plan, shop, prepare and serve healthy, tasteful meals that the entire family can enjoy. Taught in a classroom setting, we provide all of the training materials, educators, equipment, and fun necessary to get families involved and excited!!  In order to reach more families we will soon be offering a webcast that can be viewed in your home, or through many organizations in your community.

IIn our classes families will learn many new tips and tricks to cut the household food budget and maximize the existing budget to its greatest potential. Just a few examples:

Plan Ahead -Always plan at least a week's worth of meals (including snacks) so that you can make just one trip to the grocery! Among the benefits to planning ahead: a reduction in your time spent shopping, gasoline, and the opportunities for impulse purchases.
Use Sales & Coupons - Check out the weekly grocery sales BEFORE making out your menus so that you can ensure maximum savings!
Get Everyone Involved -It's much easier to stick to the plan if the entire household is involved in planning, shopping, cooking and SAVING!

Budget Meals, Inc. is simply another tool in helping people feed their families, not just today, but for the rest of their lives. This not-for-profit organization was founded on the old Chinese proverb "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime". It is the goal of Budget Meals, Inc. to help low income families "eat for a lifetime" and slash their food budget in the process.
